GRE argument essay -practise

The following was written as a part of an application for a small business loan by a group of developers in the city of Monroe.

"A jazz music club in Monroe would be a tremendously profitable enterprise. Currently, the nearest jazz club is 65 miles away; thus, our proposed club, the C Note, would have the local market all to itself. Plus, jazz is extremely popular in Monroe: over 100,000 people attended Monroe's jazz festival last summer, several well-known jazz musicians live in Monroe, and the highest-rated radio program in Monroe is 'Jazz Nightly,' which airs every weeknight. Finally, a nationwide study indicates that the typical jazz fan spends close to $1,000 per year on jazz entertainment. It is clear that the C Note cannot help but make money."

solution::

The argument made by the author who is among the group of developers in the Monroe has made attempt to convince for loan to authorities.
The author provides many statistical data supporting argument that the business will be successful considering the overall perception of Jazz-fans among the city.However when more light is shed on  the argument several fallacies in assumptions are found with false analogy. More apt information is needed to draw the conclusion made by the developer author.

First,author states that C note club will be a profitable business. In support of this statement it provides many statistical data. In a nation wide study an average jazz fan spends $1000 per year on jazz entertainment that does not mean that Monroe will also spend it according to the national trend. No details of typical jazz fan has been given in the argument for spending on jazz entertainment. One more argument is mentioned here which says that  over 100,000 people attended Monroe's jazz festival last summer. Data for the people is not given from where these people actually belonged to.It may happen that due to such high popularity of jazz in the nation people from all over the nation may have come up there for entertainment and in reality folks of Monroe may be less as it is not mentioned here. Several jazz musicians live in Monroe is the other argument in support of conclusion by developer. This clearly does not mean that Jazz business would be a bang.It may happen that these musicians may have been having their native here and be spending there time. No detailed information is provided in support of the argument by the author about these musicians.
Moreover radio program details are not being shared who actually are the listeners.

In a nutshell the conclusion drawn by the developer is unwarranted and argument given to prove them are not cogent and lack of information about the arguments made to support success of C note are lacking logical reasons and need more precise data.
